Northern Lights: Anyone Ever Seen Them?

The only Northern Lights I have ever seen were the ones here last year.... Not exactly spectacular but pretty neat!

Same here. I came home at night. My neighbors were outside and said "did you see the Northern lights?" I looked up and did something like this Unfortunately, I only caught the tail end of it.

I was stationed in Alaska in the military in 1972, and saw many such displays like these.

The one that I remember clearly was formed to look like ribbon candy; the colors were green, red and white, and the display in the night sky undulated like it was a huge banner in a light breeze.

I saw the Northern Lights here about a week ago. We had just come home about 11 at night. I looked up in the sky and saw the prettiest greenish-blue ribbons.
