A 10-month-old Fresno girl was shot in the head Sunday by a man who was apparently angry that the baby’s mother had rejected him, police said.

Investigators say Deziree was leaving the party Sunday morning to get away from the suspect when he tracked her down and fired. The man who was driving the car was not hurt. The baby was the only one struck.

She was baby sitting someone else's 10 month old baby, and took it to a party where they were drinking.

The mother was 18, met some guy a week before. He was at the party and tried holding her hand and having her sit on his lap. She left with a male friend at around 4am. She was apparently holding the baby while driving away when dude-man ran up and fired three rounds in the window, hitting the baby. Nothing in the story says anything about his immigration status, but maybe anyone with a hispanic name is a "refugee" to you.

The shooting was preceded by a gathering that happened at 3607 E. Hammond Ave. in Fresno, Dyer said.

The child’s mother, identified as 18-year-old Deziree Menagh, had gone to the Hammond Avenue address with the baby. Inside the home was Echartea, whom she’d met a week prior. He attempted to grab the mother’s hand, and she pulled away.

So many bad decisions. 18 years old with a 10 month old child. At a party at 4am. She chose to drive instead of the male who left with her. She decides to not leave immediately, but do a U-turn a 1/2 block away and basically park across the street while holding the baby in her arms. Then, the guy who shot was still at the house when he was arrested.
