Not happy....

My truck goes into the shop tomorrow to have the right rear axle replaced. Somewhere, somehow, I bent it. Gonna cost me almost $1000. Ow. $450 for the axle alone.

I'd normally do that myself, but I didn't have an axle puller handy, don't have a bearing press, and just didn't have the time to do it. But on the other hand, this truck owes me nothing. Had it since 2001, only put brakes, tires and a battery into it.

do a search for automotive time and labor guide. It at least will tell you how long it takes to fix your problem. Then you can guesstamate how much they marked up the parts

He looked it up for me when I was there, about 2 hours. The parts are coming directly from GM (Bell Motors) so I would expect a 100% markup. I'm sure I could have done better, just not gonna worry about it this time.

Good thing you have the bike to ride to work. :yay:
Yeah, if I need it. A coworker will help me drop it off in town tomorrow morning, and it should be done by afternoon. I can always steal the company car overnight too.

We have an extra car if you need it for a day for in town stuff. It's black and covered in pollen, but it runs, I think.:lmao:

Thanx for the offer. I'll keep it in mind. And you think it runs, huh ? :lmao:

We need to start it up. Hasn't been driven for a few days. It has a Base sticker. It's my trusty 2004 T-Bird, that only has about 108,000 on it, I think. I should drive it tomorrow.
