The New Executive Director took over at my job today. He's 26 years old and a super smart guy! Really good at what he does. However, I think he is feeling a little intimidated by all of us oldies. In fact today I said something that offended him. I was making suggestions about a major event we are hosting in June.

My question is, How do I make this guy comfortable without licking his feet?

If you are being serious, Kain... here's my suggestion. Don't avoid the age difference, but don't get hung up on it. Find ways to recognize that youth brings something to the table, just as experience and wisdom do. Make everyone realize that the success of the complete 'team' depends on the variance in personnel. Embrace his youth and possible naiveness (sp?) because sometimes that is what it takes to think outside the box and shed new light on situations we have lived and learned before.

That's incredible advice Kwillia! He honestly has "The right stuff" He's slightly defensive and I want to smooth the edges.
