"I am writing today to set the record straight. I am sure some of you have heard reports that the First Cavalry Division is being extended in Iraq. This is a false statement at this time.

We were all told that our soldiers would be gone for sometime between 11 and 14 months from when they left. This is still truth.

Apparently the media thought that the deployment was to be a year or less. It is beginning to look like it will be closer to the 13 or 14 month mark, than previously thought. So, the media (Killeen Daily Herald and some TV stations) released that the CAV is being extended due to the elections in Iraq in January. Of course, the more troops we have over there at a time like that, the better.

Division Commander, General Chiarelli, was very upset that the media was alarming our families w/ false statements and went so far as to schedule a video teleconference today with the Killeen Daily Herald to address this personally. He stands by what he told us at the beginning. Our soldiers will be home 11-14 months from when they deployed."

Liberals will be lucky if troops in Iraq don't declare them enemy combatants and Shock and Awe their asses.
