we decided to grab a few pancakes last night at a Nationwide chain. We "hopped" over for a dinner /breakfast.

the perky young woman was a good waitress. The bill was $27.00. NO EGGS.

I gave her two twenty dollar bills. she asked if I wanted change..... pretty hefty tip eh? 50%? naw

she asked if I wanted change

This is really annoying and we can blame the people who are bullied and intimidated by tip lines on a receipt for it. Restaurant workers have found that there are a lot of people who are highly suggestible and will give you everything they own if you only....suggest it. Don't even have to really ask, just put a small suggestion on a piece of paper and these people will fall all over themselves to comply. "I'll give! I'll give! Please don't hurt me!!!"

Do you want change back from your $100 bill on a $15 check?
Uh....no.....🥵

Do you want to leave me a 30% tip for ringing up your purchase?
Uh....yes....🥵

(tip jar sitting on a counter)
Stop! Stop! I'll pay!! Don't hurt me!! 🥵

It's pretty pathetic.

It's why I carry small bills when I go out.

And I HATE when they ask if I need change. With my small bills, I can head them off, say "I don't need any change" as I hand it to them.

Just wish I could see their face when they unroll those bills and find $1s under that $20.

And I am usually a 20%+ tipper, so they don't have anything to cry about.

If I get really good service, I’m usually a very generous tipper, but don’t try to press me into giving you a 50% tip on breakfast.

Do that and you’ll get a straight 15%. At best.

90% of the time I get really good service in the places I frequent, put the bill on my card and always leave a generous tip in cash.
