Now This is Just a Little Bit Unbelievable.......

I Don't Need Two Stinking Seats, Sir!

SPOKANE, Wash. - An Eastern Washington woman has sued Southwest Airlines, saying company employees humiliated her in front of other airplane passengers by suggesting she was too fat to fit in a single seat.

``I'm a bigger girl but I'm not that big,'' she told The Associated Press on Saturday. At 5-foot-7, she wears SIZE 22 PANTS and considers herself overweight but not obese, she said.

I'd say she was pushing the limit just a little, no?

I may get some bad karma out of this post, but geeez, size 22?

And she's got a beef with the airlines?

American must eat Chinese way. We cure fat very well. Just make sure not enough to go all around. Then no one get too fat.

Kind of sad that she doesn't see herself as obese--and that neither her family or doctors have recognized it as well. I'm sure she sees people larger than her, and possibly that's why she doesn't think she has a problem.

She's a chunker Penn, but I am certain she could have been wedged into one of the coach seats.....

"Her lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Spokane in June. Her attorney, Russell Van Camp, said he plans to seek unspecified monetary damages for reckless infliction of emotional distress and harassment."

Is there a nother type of emotional distress? If so, would somehting like sincere infliction or cheerful infliction be less distressing?

Personally I prefer Savage infliction

I suppose so JH, but look at it another way; they have to seat these people carefully. It maybe there wasn't a seat her size available in coach.

I didn't want to seem to be down on people who're carrying around a little extra baggage, heck, I'm one of them.
I'm probably 10 lbs over what I should be, and I wear a 32 slacks in mens clothing and have worn that size for a long time.

I think the woman needs to take up the Adkins diet, and quit kidding herself that's "she's just a bigger girl".

Could someone please translate "size 22" into some sort of measurement that the women's-sizing-impared can understand?

Penn,

I weigh 250 lbs and I can sit fine in one of those seats.

Like so many, denile means more than a river in Africa to this chick.

I think everyone should be required to weigh in before boarding. They should also be required to pass a "sniff" test.

:lmao: That, was a good one JH, more on the order of a gem. I'll have to save that one for posterity.

You're a hard act to follow, dude.

Approximately 45 X 36+ X 47, according to a size chart I found online. More than a little big.

I just saw her on the Ch 9 news. She most definitely is the Queen of Denial(Denile). There is no way she could drive an automobile unless it was specially equiped. She should save trhe money going to the shyster lawyer and buy a ticket on a C5a.

:duh: That bad, huh? Well, we've had responses as to what a size 22 might look like; I guess we're now informed.

I wonder what "coach" costs on a C5a?

More from the article...

"And in cases where passengers are asked to buy second tickets, the fares are refunded if the plane leaves with any unfilled seats, she said."

Seems to me that SW has a good policy in place. No extra fee if seats are available; double charge your fat azz if there aren't. Simple.

 Yo Steve, how ya doin? There is probably more going on here than is apparent; but barring that, the woman felt offended and humiliated and someone, I'm guessing, suggested hiring a lawyer to take the case under advisement.
Now lawyers, seeing a way to make a dollar or two, told her - again I'm supposing here, "we'll file suit in court aginst SW airlines, and rather than have the case splashed all over the headlines, we'll settle for a couple hundred thousand dollars, possibly out of court."

Hmmm?

Well maybe this will be the kick in her size 22 azz she needs to lose some friggin weight.

 Ah Nickel, you make a darn good point. But check this out from another angle: Maybe, just maybe, the woman has seen all along the error
of her ways, and has decided to sue SW airlines for a measely 100-200k, and - will enter herself into a health spa and become a size 12!

Now ain't that justice, I ask you? :flowers:
