She was willing to do more time than the judge sentenced her to. At least she'd get three squares and free health care.

Nun gets nearly 3 years in prison for nuke protest

"In her closing statement, Rice asked the judge to sentence her to life in prison, even though sentencing guidelines called for about six years.

"Please have no leniency with me," she said. "To remain in prison for the rest of my life would be the greatest gift you could give me."

So sad, too bad. Not, for each of them. Do the crime, do the time.

Too bad they don't share that idea of justice in southern md. Around here there is a revolving door of justice where real thugs and criminals get locked up weekly and monthly just to get released by the court system around here, i would love to see them all get 3 years. I guess i will have to settle for the nonviolent elderly nun getting locked up for trespassing and grafifti, i personally will sleep much better at night knowing this bad ass criminal is locked away. Must not have many crimes in Fl. to take such an interest in this case.

Hank goes out of his way to inform us on the crime here in Fl. This judgement made the papers down here. No reporting of it up there? I remember the incident, and am surprised she got actual jail time. The other two had already been in trouble before.

Your system of revolving door justice is not much different than ours, 'ceptin' we do execute on occasion.:yahoo:
