Mike Lawler calls out NYC mayor for appearing at recent event with celebs

A New York State assemblyman is demanding action from New York City Mayor Eric Adams as NYPD officers are reportedly leaving the department at a record rate amid a surge in violent crime.

Republican congressional candidate Mike Lawler joined "Fox & Friends First" to discuss how crime is impacting the exodus.

"Obviously Mayor Adams inherited a mess from Bill de Blasio, but unfortunately, he really hasn't been able to turn the tide here.

"And I think more and more law enforcement officers, as soon as they can retire, are taking the opportunity to do so or if they could transfer to a department in the suburbs are doing so," he told co-host Carley Shimkus.

Adams is just the latest Dem taking the city for all it's worth and leaving the dying husk behind.

The police are not leaving because of high crime, they are leaving because they do their job and the city turns the criminals loose. Police officer expect danger, it's part of the job, but they don't expect to be gunned down in a patrol car by a criminal who was just turned loose from prison, or out on bail.
