Blinged-out Brooklyn bishop robbed mid-sermon, armed thieves make off with $400K in jewelry

Three thieves were caught on tape barging into a Brooklyn church on Sunday where controversial bishop Lamor Whitehead — an ally to Mayor Adams — was preaching and snatched $400,000 worth of jewelry off of him and his wife.

Whitehead, the Rolls-Royce-driving bishop who recently tried to broker a deal for the surrender of a man accused of a subway murder to the mayor, was preaching at Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministry on Remsen Ave. near Avenue D in Canarsie about 11:15 a.m. Sunday when three masked bandits stormed into the church, the pastor and cops confirmed.

The robbery is a bit shocking ....

I am not going to lose sleep about this greedy bastard being robbed

Abbott argued that his bus program was designed to send migrants to the nation’s capital, not to New York City. Instead, the Biden administration has authorized flights of migrants to Adams’ state.

“I launched our border busing mission back in April to help our local partners, busing over 5,500 migrants to Washington, D.C. so far. Texas has not bused any migrants to New York,” Abbott noted. “Instead, it is President Biden who has flown planeloads of migrants to New York. Mayor Adams should address his frustration with migrants to the root cause: Joe Biden.”

Adams attacked both Abbott and Governor Doug Ducey (R-AZ) over their migrant busing programs during a news conference from City Hall on Thursday.

New York judge strikes down state rule allowing involuntary detention in quarantine camps

Rule 2.13 gave the New York commissioner of public health the power to enforce quarantine regulations. Under this rule, court documents assert, “[t]he commissioner has unfettered discretion to issue a quarantine or isolation for anyone, even if there is no evidence that person is infected or a carrier of the disease. Further, the commissioner sets the terms, duration, and location of the detention, not an independent magistrate."

The judge highlighted that the protocol marked a severe escalation from existing health measures the state took to combat the spread of COVID-19 earlier in the pandemic.

“Involuntary detention is a severe deprivation of individual liberty, far more egregious than other health safety measures, such as requiring mask wearing at certain venues,” the judge wrote, according to the Epoch Times.

Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul ordered the initial protocols to allow the state Department of Health to enforce the measures, the outlet noted. The government argued that the detainees received protections such as the right to a review and a lawyer, but the judge noted that they did not allow citizens to challenge their initial detention.

Three Women Charged For Destroying NYC Restaurant Over Extra $1.75 Dipping Sauce Cost

Cell phone footage from one of the employees obtained by Univision shows three women in their mid-twenties wreaking havoc at Bel Fries restaurant on the Lower East Side at around 4 a.m. From the employee’s vantage point, the young women are seen throwing glass bottles and other objects at restaurant workers while onlookers stand behind and record the incident.

Authorities later identified and arrested Pearl Ozaria, Chitara Plasencia, and Tatiyanna Johnson.

Johnson’s attorney, Glenn Hardy, told Fox 5 New York the public only knows so much of the story, alluding that inflammatory language was used during an argument between the restaurant workers. However, the cell phone video shows the women taunting employees, trashing the eatery, and twerking against a pandemic plastic barrier atop the main counter.

One of the women immediately tore down the COVID blocker mid-twerk.

Rafael Nuñez, the restaurant’s chef, told Univision everything started after he tried explaining to the women that extra sauce for the potatoes costs $1.75.

That’s when they got upset.

“We explained to them that this is a business rule and that it is equal for everyone, but they did not understand,” Nuñez said.

The 23-year-old McDonald’s employee reportedly got into an argument, or tried to intervene in an argument, with Lisa Fulmore, 40, over cold fries at a Brooklyn McDonald’s Monday evening. Fulmore then FaceTimed her son after the heated exchange, ABC 7 New York reported.

Police said that Fulmore’s 20-year-old son Michael Morgan showed up to the restaurant and confronted the employees before going outside where he allegedly shot the victim in the neck. Fulmore claims that the victim showed aggression toward her son before he was shot.

“I talked to my son with the cops. My son is just saying that he gotta do what he gotta do and the [victim] came after him and whatever happened, happened,’’ Fulmore told the New York Post.

NYT: N.Y. and D.C. can’t handle influx of thousands of migrants … and it’s all border state GOP governors’ fault

GOP Governors Cause Havoc! And you thought they’d stop with pouncing and seizing … as if!

More from the New York Times’ Miriam Jordan:

A political tactic by the governors of Texas and Arizona to offload the problems caused by record levels of migration at the border is beginning to hit home in Washington, as hundreds of undocumented migrants arriving on the governors’ free bus rides each week increasingly tax the capital’s ability to provide emergency food and housing.
With no money and no family to receive them, the migrants are overwhelming immigrant nonprofits and other volunteer groups, with many ending up in homeless shelters or on park benches. Five buses arrived on a recent day, spilling young men and families with nowhere to go into the streets near the Capitol.

That wasn’t supposed to be D.C.’s problem! That wasn’t supposed to be New York’s problem!

Venezuelans have been showing up daily at the offices of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York seeking help. “Their primary concern has been a place to stay, food for their children,” said Maryann Tharappel, who directs the organization’s immigrant and refugee services.
“The infrastructure in New York is not built for this,” she said. “We are not on the border.”
Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas and Gov. Doug Ducey of Arizona, both Republicans, blame President Biden for record numbers of migrants crossing the southern border.
Cities along the border in Texas and Arizona have at times been overwhelmed with a surge in unauthorized border crossings that peaked under the Biden administration, which has sought to unravel some of the harsh border restrictions imposed by former President Donald J. Trump.

More from the New York Post:

Adams has requested city agencies to provide photographs of potential hires to City Hall as candidates go through the interview process for city jobs ranging from assistant commissioner to departmental press secretary, Politico reported Thursday.
Several unnamed city officials told the outlet that the request is clearly an effort to hire more diverse staffers. However, Adams maintains that it will merely help him recognize his employees in the sprawling city workforce.
“Everyone knew what it was. There was no question. It was the first thing everybody said: ‘We’re going to start counting complexions now,’” one recently-departed City Hall employee told Politico.
The majority of the officials interviewed by the outlet — who requested anonymity to speak freely about the internal measure — said they supported a more diverse workforce but worried the practice is already causing the Adams administration to make hiring decisions with a greater emphasis on race and ethnicity than merit.

Maybe he is looking for some good looking female applicants.
A nude picture may even give them a better chance of being hired.

Sneakers

Just sneakin' around....
 Wasn't too long ago that it was against all HR hiring policies to even ASK for a picture, because that might bias the candidates. Interviews by phone.

How things have changed in a few short years. And not for the better.

Eric Adams' NYC too crime-ridden for illegal immigrants

According to the New York Post, Adams said, "We were led to believe about 40 people should have been on that bus. Only 14 got off," and suggested that the migrants got off the bus earlier than their final destination "because of the fear that something was going to happen to them if they came to this location."

"And we are concerned about that because we don’t want people being dropped off [just] anywhere," Adams added.

On Friday, a busload of about 50 illegal immigrants sent by Texas Governor Greg Abbott made it to New York City. The Lone Star state leader had promised to relocate the masses of migrants flooding into Texas to blue states whose leadership supported open borders.

Overall, the Biden Administration has seen a record-high number of illegal immigrants pouring into the United States along the country's southern border.

Eric Adams Is ‘Deeply Contemplating’ Taking New Yorkers To Texas To Get Back At Greg Abbott

The Democratic mayor — who ran for election with a promise to keep New York a “sanctuary city” — blasted Governor Abbott for transporting the immigrants across the country to his city.

“This is horrific when you think about what [Abbott] is doing,” Adams said during a press conference. “New York is a city that has always represented democratic values. Showing our values. That’s what we’re doing today.”

“It is unimaginable what the governor of Texas has done,” he claimed. “When you think about this country, a country that has always been open to those who are fleeing persecution and other intolerable conditions.”

“We’ve always welcomed that. And this governor is not doing that in Texas,” he added. “But we are going to set the right message and the right tone of being here for these families.”

For his part, Abbott blasted Adams, saying, “What’s horrific is the thousands of illegal immigrants overrunning and overwhelming our border communities with populations smaller than a New York City borough, and Mayor Adams is hypocritically upset about welcoming a few dozen into his sanctuary city.”
