New York Times reporter Katie Benner deleted tweets calling for Trump supporters to be considered "enemies of the state" after she faced viral backlash from critics.

Amid the first hearing of the Jan. 6 committee on Capitol Hill, Benner suggested that in order to "combat" national security threats within the country, the solution was to target the voters of the former president.

However, the Times' Justice Department reporter later took down the tweets, claiming they were "unclearly worded."

To be honest---------------------that's how I see Democrat politicians.

And I think there is plenty of proof of my suppositions.

Tp be fair she was referring to the capital rioters not all Trump supporters.

And the police testified to the fact that these individuals were Terrorists and white nationalist insurrectionists.

So why shouldn't people attacking the capitol to over turn an election be called "enemies of the state"?

"DC Police Officer Daniel Hodges also relayed in robust detail what he saw in the crowd. Hodges repeatedly called the Capitol attackers “terrorists” and the attack itself a “white nationalist insurrection.” He said that some in the mob had tried to recruit him and he also spoke about the hypocrisy of the thin blue line flag he saw at the Capitol attack, the religious symbols, and the use of American flags to beat officers. Hodges was the officer who was crushed against the door frame in the lower tunnel of the Capitol. We learned today that Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL) and Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) were hiding in a room 40 feet away from where Officer Hodges was holding the line. Rep. Murphy asked Hodges what he was fighting for that day and Hodges simply replied with one word: “Democracy.”"

“Today’s #January6thSelectCommittee underscores the America’s current, essential [national security] dilemma: Work to combat legitimate national security threats now entails calling a politician’s supporters enemies of the state,” tweeted Katie Benner, who covers the Justice Department for the nation’s most prestigious newspaper.

That suggests up to all 74 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump pose an imminent threat to democracy.

“As Americans, we believe that state power should not be used to work against a political figure or a political party,” she continued. “But,” she asked, “what happens if a politician seems to threaten the state? If the politician continues to do so out of office and his entire party supports that threat?”

“The dilemma was unresolved by the Russia probe and 2 impeachments,” Benner proceeded, in a tweet thread posted on Tuesday, which she subsequently deleted.

Tp be fair she was referring to the capital rioters not all Trump supporters. To be honest...you sound like a Marxist, and therefore YOU are considered MY enemy

And the police testified to the fact that these individuals were Terrorists and white nationalist insurrectionists. So now you support police shooting & killing unarmed FEMALE Military Vets?

So why shouldn't people attacking the capitol to over turn an election be called "enemies of the state"? Why shouldn't you be called an enemy of the State? Your views are more in line with this Nation's traditional enemies?

So now you support the Police killing unarmed citizens?...Or just unarmed female military vets?

“As Americans, we believe that state power should not be used to work against a political figure or a political party,”

Does she mean like when Obama used the NSA to spy on Trump when he was running for President?
Or when the democrats tried 2 times to impeach a President and they had absolutely no evidence?
How about when Pelosi refuses to allow anyone on her Jan. 6th farce that might ask legitimate questions.
