Bad school? What middle/high schools are with that district? I'd assume Chopticon high, but am not sure.

Oakville isn't a bad school. My daughter went there this year and really liked it. It in the district for both Leonardtown and Chopticon High schools. Middle schools are split too between Leonardtown and Margret Brent.

Really? Here in Calvert we had to bring our mortgage payment booklet to prove we lived in the district. Does St. Mary's not do that?

I had to bring my lease and SMECO bill when I enrolled the Bug at Hollywood Elementary. Along with her birth certificate and social security card.

You go to the school board and tell them you already have daycare established. Let them know she has been going to that daycare for years, you've established a trust relationship with her and sometimes work long hours, etc. etc.. in most cases they will wave it and let the sitter put her on the bus for the school district she is zoned. Just as long as that school doesn't have a high student/ teacher ratio.

There are forum members here who live in St. Mary's in one school zone, but because daycare is established in another area, they have allowed it. Maybe those people will speak up. and let you know the procedure you have to follow.

My daughter goes to school in Charles County and I used my parents address to enroll her. They wanted proof of residence, and since my mail still goes to their address, it wasn't much of a problem. However, they still wanted a mortgage/utility bill but I told them I rented and none of the bills were in my name. After a few squabbles, the school finally gave in...

:yeahthat: If she's in another districts daycare you just have to fill out another form:shrug: It's no biggie here to go to a school outside of your area.

All I had to take was just 2 itmes with an address on it, I think I used me driver's license and a SMECO bill. But you could just say you live at your mom's or get a po box for which ever district.

I'd actually be fine to stay in my district, but am just hoping I'd be able to find daycare there. No confirmation that I'll even be in that district, but we're hoping our bid will be accepted.

Had any bites on your house yet? I know you just put it up but after IM's 9 hours I figured yours should go pretty quick!

My house went so quickly because it was just under 300K. Houses in that price range do not stay on the market very long here in Charles. Since then, I've had so many people pull in my driveway asking about the house.

So pfgal, any update?

Didn't sell the house yet, but lots of lookers!! The sellers of the house we liked don't want to accept a contingent offer, but will accept if we remove the contingency. We're not ready to do that just yet, so we're continuing our search!! We may decide by the end of the week to go non-contingent and take that house anyway, but we wanted to wait a few days before making a firm decision.

It is soooooooooooooo fricken stressful having your house on the market. Even after we had a contract in hand, the lookers came for several more days.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
