Obama gots no respect for the military folk

I'd rather see Tricare rate hikes than what they're going to do in October. Tricare Prime is going to decrease the areas that they will cover in October of this year by zipcode. Certain zipcodes will no longer support Tricare Prime. So if you live in one of those areas, you're screwed.

Odd that they appear to be exempt from Obamacare. More F'd up, the military continues to get pay increases whilst the DOD civilians are being furloughed.

Yeah, this is another Steny Hoyer screw up. If he hadn't kept PAX off the BRAC list, you guys down there wouldn't have to worry about the TRICARE Prime shrinkage. BRAC sites remain TRICARE Prime eligible.

Pax is still a Tricare Prime area and will probably remain so due to the base. Most of these zipcoded areas are places that are out of the way. I don't know their criteria for determining which are or aren't. You can find out by going to their website and punching in a zipcode. It will tell you whether or not it's Tricare Prime after Oct 2013 and will give you your alternatives.

The criteria for losing Tricare Prime is living more then 40 miles from a Military Treatment Facility.
Retirees not near bases to lose TRICARE Prime, Oct. 1 - News - Progress-Index

However, there is a amendment to this years NDAA that would allow those who could lose Tricare Prime to stay in - as long as they don't move.

If PAX had won a place on the BRAC list, more people in the surrounding area would be TRICARE Prime eligible.

Higher out of pocket expenses and that only if they will take Tricare Standard. Most won't and you're stuck paying for Blue Cross or some other $1000 a month insurance. Retired folks can't afford that.
The announcement would force 173,000 retirees and family members to switch to Tricare Standard, a traditional fee-for-service health care program with higher out-of-pocket costs than Prime.

I like to feed trolls.

Every active duty service member has taken a base pay, pay cut this year. Don't take my word for it do the math and see for yourself. Pay raise - tax increase = decrease in pay. Active duty pay raises over the past few years have been below inflation.

What's next, the military guys are/were overpayed?

How could military guys, as you say, be overpaid? They defend America, and try to keep us safe, and die for us. And, the ones that come home as veterans, are crapped on, and stonewalled again, and waiting for their benefits. It is the ultimate FU slap in the face, and nothing can top that, ever in the history of the World. It is all so wrong, and wrong again, forever. Instead of supporting x amount of welfare pigs, shouldn't I have the right to donate that same amount to deserving veterans that have fought for my freedom and life? And, on top of that, Obama will want the military to support him in his coup that he is planning. Ha!

I didn't say the miltitary was over paid. Did you actually read my response to this:

NUTZ SAID,
"Odd that they appear to be exempt from Obamacare. More F'd up, the military continues to get pay increases whilst the DOD civilians are being furloughed."

I think you need to go back and re-read my post (to nutz).

And I happen to be one of those retired VETS by the way....

Well, I could have read it wrong, but I just have strong feelings about vets. Ever since, the Vietnam War, vets have never been treated correctly, or respected, as they should be. I read your post, but I just have a really strong respect for any American that has defended me. They should not be included in any bureaucracy or red tape. I do have a handle on most things, but I, also, have a 'whoosh' tendency; that in plain terms, is called 'dense'.

All I know is that if it wasn't for the brave military that has defended our country, we wouldn't be where we are today, and now we are declining. My husband used to work for the government, after his military career, and that is why he doesn't work for the government, anymore. He chose to work in the private sector. I don't know what else to say. I always like other opinions, and learning something new every day.

Could have read it wrong? You did read it wrong!

Please go back and read it again so you can see just how wrong you read it.

I ride with the PGR (Patriot Guard Riders), and I can tell you that VETS now are treated much better than those who fought in the Vietnam War. Many of them will tell you that themselves if you talk to them. Even the Westborough Baptist Church and other groups fail in comparison to what our Vietnam Vets had to endure. Vietnam VETS are actively involved in making sure that today's VETS are treated respectfully and I have to say that they do a damn good job and I respect the hell out of every one of them. In or out of uniform I personally have never been disrespected as a member of the military.

In the post I was responding to. Nutz implied that the military should take a pay cut in lieu of the furloughs. Go back and read it!

Ok. Sorry. I said I could be dense. Thank you for your service, and God bless you. But, I did say the active military wasn't paid enough, for in essence, the price of their life. Who is really being dense here, and not reading what is written?

Also, I think you did not fully read what I posted. But, that is ok. No biggy. Thanks for the reply. I did say, however, that the military that defends America is not paid enough. That's ok; things are misconstrued on this forum all the time.

To the bold text. The answer would be you. I read what you wrote and didn't dispute any of it. You on the other hand grossly misunderstood/misread my post. Hey great you support the military and agree that they don't get paid enough but yet you attack a VET (me) on two counts now for defending the issue first (as in before you in this thread). I'm starting to see why you are referred to as "mamakookoo.

I won't engage in a debate with you over this. The posts are out there for others to draw their own conclusions. Good luck!

I didn't attack you. I said thank you. I don't know why this is turning badly. I am sorry I replied to you. I do not have enough words to express how I feel about the military that has defended the generations in America. Go pick your fight somewhere else. Peace.

The DoD cannot defend us in the field. Congress is exempt from Obamacare, as well as, our prez, and whoever else at whoever's discretion. I am truly trying to get why you are so up in arms at me, so to speak. I am on America's side, are you? And, why all of a sudden have you become a Turncoat? Just wondering.

I see what happened here. I said our military could never be paid enough for what they do as the ultimate in giving life for country, and you turned my statement into something else. So, yes, these posts will be read, and it will be seen that I had no bad intentions, whatsoever. Good luck!

You know nothing about who I really am so stop hurting your brain thinking that you do.

There is no way out of the conundrum you've created for yourself. The posts (your posts) are there for all to read. Even if you delete them, as you did to some of your posts last night, they have been quoted and that you can't change.

Your heart is in the right place no doubt but your brain on the other hand is clearly somewhere else. I wish you the best of luck.

There is always a way if one is true to themselves. Maybe my heart is in tune with my brain, and others cannot see through that. That is ok. Doesn't bother me, anymore. The bandwagon is overflowing; don't fall off, and hurt yourself. I wish you the best, also.

Now you're repeating yourself, but let me digress. This a forum and as such people will form opinions based on what you type and as such there is no bias as to what you look like, color, sex etc. If 10 out of 10 people have the same issue with you than it is reasonable to believe that you may actually be the problem.

What a f***kin QUACK we have here! Let's see, you jump on this forum with your schizophrenic "hello I am jello" posts and continue with a windfall of more insane posts and now jump on one of the nicest people I've encountered on this forum... because you are too brain-dead to read what she wrote. In fact, she clarified it several times. But you're too angry to understand. Here's some advice that I doubt you'll even read... grow up! and be somebody! Just because you're a vet doesn't give you clearance to be a dick head!
