The billionaires are trying to paint Vance as an elitist because he....went to Yale. They conveniently leave out the part where he was in the Marines and used his GI benefit to pay for what his scholarship didn't cover. I've seen this narrative from a number of Democrat operatives - "Oh, JD Vance went to Yale!! He is a rich out of touch elitist!!" - as they sit there with their Ivy League educations counting their billion$$$.

They don't even try to have a take anymore because they know they can say ridiculous things like that and Dembot voters will be all, " :drool: "

Stupid bastards, how dare Vance et al work for their success when all they had to do was become a Democrat politician and *wallow* in money.

I saw a couple of Yahoo links talking about Jill Biden's $800. shoes and Michelle's $1500. outfit. Some of the comments about doesn't the party support working class Americans who can't afford those things.

Then the people on the left saying they were borrowed or given to them. Just more excuses from the do as I say not as I do party.

The uber wealthy of all stripes need to project themselves as some sort of victim to keep the peasants from showing up at their doorsteps with pitchforks. Or they play the we feel your pain tune.

This is from over a decade ago. But it is still relevant today.

Every filthy rich person — the vast majority of them have figured it out. In public you say and act liberal. Why? It’s your insurance policy. You’re filthy rich. You have $40 billion. You run around and say you’re not paying enough and nobody is, either, and the peasants with the pitchforks will leave you alone until they get fed up and come for the money. It worked for the Kennedys. It’s workin’ for Bill Gates. It’s workin’ for Buffett. This is why they do it!

They’re protecting themselves. This is how they hold onto their own money, folks. This is how they turn hatred and resentment for the rich into love and respect for themselves. They align themselves with Democrats. They align themselves with the social welfare net. They constantly talk about the poor and the disadvantaged, how the rich aren’t paying enough. How could the peasants disagree? How could the peasants get mad at them? That leaves only the Republicans who are the filthy rich who want to hoard it all.

This is how they have an insurance policy so that the peasants with pitchforks are not following them around everywhere asking them for money or extorting money or whatever. Because the peasants with pitchforks end up thinking that Buffett and Gates are on their side and are working very hard to make sure that the rich “pay more,” but not that the poor “get more.” It’s such a scam, it’s a game, or what have you.
