What? Guidelines for lobbying? A lobbyist is an individual hired to promote the position of a special interest group. They should only influence opinion through the merits of their knowledge and presentation skills in regard to the particular issue they are presenting. Explain the issues,answer the questions and accept the chips as they fall. No financial or pork deals allowed. Also another bone of contention, IMHO it is unethical for former defeated legislators to become lobbyists since then the process becomes a "good ole boy network" of insiders. Measures to control the influence of lobbyists through campaign finance reforms etc. has been mere campaign rhetoric.vraiblonde said:

...you lobbying elected representatives to get your way just because you have more money than me? What if you wanted to build a factory yet local zoning and NIMBY's were fighting you while I was using my time to lobby congress to give me a free big screen or an extra day off of work, paid?
