Officials are now asking Solomon's Residents

Officials are going from door to door on Solomon's Island telling them to leave voluntarily. Ok that's fine and dandy, but only CALVERT HIGH AND HUNTINGTOWN HIGH are being used as shelters!!! Why the heck do the residents have to drive up north for a shelter. Open one of the schools down here. Quite of few elderly living on the island. They are doing evacuations up North also, which means it could get crowded.

My Mom is in Solomons Landing and are far enough from the water to not have to go anywhere. But thanks!

They just announced to evacuate Kenwood Beach. High tide at Solomon's is at 9:00....this is worse than anticipated. Stay safe to everyone.

Why DON'T we have a shelter closer? Is there a reason we can't use Patuxent HS? Anyone know?
