I was waiting with bated breath for a St. Mary's Metcom rate increase. Almost thought they forgot. But alas, they remembered to increase water and sewer rates YET AGAIN:

HA--should be "bated breath". Sorry for the grammar--probably had too many thoughts of rate increases dancing in my head...

Ha! Lonesome Dove - recognized it in a heartbeat - binge watched it with Bob Kerr who went on and on about a poke the rest of the evening. I don't think he offered me $50.00 though - like a quarter or something instead. God he was a cheapskate...
Must have been during the Obama economy.

Same--currently $65-$70 per month before METCOM digs into my pocket this summer for more. I can't imagine what families that have a lot more usage than me are paying--it must be ridiculous for them...

my water in calvert went up 33%.
One would think with the county being so flush with cash from Calvert Cliffs and Dominion LNG, and an increase in property taxes rates though rolled back just a smidgen to appease some as well as used for campaign rhetoric, rates would be lower. But nope. Everyone working in government gets more money first, then their retirement accounts, then, old, but still young, paid for and serviceable, buildings, are either torn down or burned down to make way for brand new buildings costing millions and millions, then hire more and more people costing millions more per year. Ahhhh, meet the new "elected officials" same as the old.
