Im the proud owner of a nice new Nikon D300 :yahoo: !! Now to learn how to use the darned thing, quite a bit different than my old D80. Anyone know why the hell CF cards are so freakin expensive? An 8gb card is good for ~250 pics if i shoot in 14bit lossless compressed RAW+JPG. A 16gb (12 bit compressed RAW+JPG) on the D80 was good for over 800 images! Regadless, im pretty excited to try this thing out, been shooting silly stuff around the house tonight. Hopefully i can get out over the weekend and put it to some use.

cf cards expensive??? hahaha the prices have DROPPED big time on those. I remember when they were double. Have fun with the d300 its super nice!

Calumet has the 16GB III version for $121 - $90 mail-in rebate, + shipping & tax Good deal. If they still have that.

Id check Adorama too... they have some deals that BH sometimes doesn't have.

Well, compared to the SD cards im accustomed to!

I ordered a 16gb III from Adorama earlier in the week, still waiting for it to show up. They are using UPS Mail Innovations to ship it, and ive read nothing good about it. It is definitely taking a lot longer than it used to.
