OMG! Ginger is beautiful! I don't think she's a mix.

I had shepherds for years...great dogs.
Ginger is a pretty girl...doesn't look like a mix to me either. I've got 2 shep's, they are super smart dogs.

My 2 year old shepherd is a pain in the rear but I love her to death. BUt man is she a talker. Ive never had a dog so talkative. Shes not barking, just making all kinds of noise about this one big bone she has. Just yak, yak, yak. Im like STFU.

There are plenty of young pups to choose from at the shelter...saw a GS mix about 6 months old.

Another 9 mo old pup... http://www.charlescounty.org/es/apps/availableanimals/details.jsp?ID=42905

Save a life...choose a dog/cat from the shelter....
Ginger looks like my Chloe - if i didn't live in a townhouse and have two cats and a dog, i'd get another shepard. great dogs

No doubt they're great dogs, but darn if they don't shed alot! I'm thinking about trying this brush called The Furminator...its expensive, but if it helps w/ shedding it might be worth it.

Dont buy it, waste of money. Once or twice a year my shepherd starts shedding so bad that all she has to do is touch something and she leaves a big pile of hair. After trying to many different brushes, this year, just recently, I got fed up. So I go looking for something to brush this dog with and I find a fine tooth comb like a barber uses. Then I grab the dog and start running that comb thru her in short deep strokes. I swear it worked every bit as well as the expensive ones. And my god, you should of seen all the hair. So try that before you waste money.

They blow out the undercoat. I used an undercoat rake...best thing there is. In fact, I still use it on the cats, they love it.
