Here was one from two Sundays ago sermons.

Genesis 15 When God entered into covenant with Abram this time, it was one sided deal, also this passage shows its ok to have doubts as part of our human nature.
Abram doubted twice in blue, and was still counted faithful and also by God only walking between the two half's made him responsible unto death no matter who broke it, Whether Abram did or God, we know God couldn't, but with his fore knowledge he know he knew Abram would, so this points to the cross, and that Gods plan had drafted out before this. I personally think it was before the creation of the world but some argue it was after Adam sinned.
Two people would 'cut covenant' or cut an animal in two and both of them would walk in between the two halves of the animal to signify that they were making a covenant.(This varied, if it was a subject of a king only the subject would, if it was two kings it could be one or both) The significance of this was that they believed that if they broke their covenant or promise to one another after walking between the two halves of a sacrificed animal, they would be killed. Today we live under a new covenant which no longer requires us to walk in between two animal halves. However we are still required to keep our promises or covenants with one another.
Gen 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: "Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great."
Gen 15:2 But Abram said, "O Lord GOD, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?" "First Doubt" Wheres your promise to deliver from before, it has yet to take place?
Gen 15:3 And Abram said, "Behold, you have given me no offspring, and a member of my household will be my heir."
Gen 15:4 And behold, the word of the LORD came to him: "This man shall not be your heir; your very own son shall be your heir."
Gen 15:5 And he brought him outside and said, "Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."
Gen 15:6 And he believed the LORD, and he counted it to him as righteousness. "Shows it was ok to doubt God didnt hold it against him."
Gen 15:7 And he said to him, "I am the LORD who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess."
Gen 15:8 But he said, "O Lord GOD, how am I to know that I shall possess it?" Second Doubt
Gen 15:9 He said to him, "Bring me a heifer three years old, a female goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove, and a young pigeon."
Gen 15:10 And he brought him all these, cut them in half, and laid each half over against the other. But he did not cut the birds in half.
Gen 15:11 And when birds of prey came down on the carcasses, Abram drove them away.
Gen 15:12 As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. And behold, dreadful and great darkness fell upon him.
Gen 15:13 Then the LORD said to Abram, "Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years.
Gen 15:14 But I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions.
Gen 15:15 As for yourself, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age.
Gen 15:16 And they shall come back here in the fourth generation, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete."
Gen 15:17 When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. God signing the deal see custom note below on covenat ritual above.
Gen 15:18 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your offspring I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates,
Gen 15:19 the land of the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites,
Gen 15:20 the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim,
Gen 15:21 the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girga####es and the Jebusites."
I just thought this was way cool pointing to the cross like this,Showing Gods Plan!
