I called DNR this morning. Was told I needed an appointment to go to their service center in Solomon's Island.
Now it was bad enough during the Covid BS to need an appointment to go to Department of Motor Vehicles and DNR and even to get a hair cut, but the Covid crap is over and all of these people have fallen in love with this appointment BS. Yes: it's nice to just close down ands serve half the people they used to serve by making appointments, and in not serving but so many a day by making them have appointments, but eh Bullsh*t is over, It's time to get back to work. Sure I hated to wait, but I still have to wait and I have to be there at a certain time. It's time the garbage was dropped and thry get back to work.

Having been there numerous times since they started requiring an appointment, I've learned that the appt sytem they employ reduces the time I spend there getting whatever I need done. Same goes even more so for MVA..hope they keep the appointment system going forever. Huge improvement in wait times.

Who wants to wait in line instead of having an appointment??

Help me here.

Our DMV takes appointments (or you can walk in and sit there with the rabble for hours) and I was so excited! Walk in at the appointed time, go to the window, done.

I don’t like the appointment system because I don’t plan ahead. When I get a free half day, I want to drive to DNR or MVA right then and there and get my business done. If I make an appointment for Thursday then something more pressing is definitely gonna pop up that day that needs my attention.

It's time for me to look at my DL and passport.

It's time for me to look at my DL and passport.
Speaking of passport, over the Christmas holiday, I went online to renew Global Entry for myself, my wife, and daughter. About a month later, we got a message saying our renewals were accepted and the final step was to schedule an interview, either at the government office in DC or via Zoom. It was difficult to find 3 zoom appointments all together on the same day, so we just kept putting these interviews off. Then about 2 weeks ago, my daughter tells me she received her new global entry card in the mail. She goes online to verify and all is legit - no interview ever done. Five days later my wife receives her card - same thing. Five days after that, I get my card. So who decided we didn’t need an interview? Will we find out this summer/fall when arriving back in the US that there was a mistake and we now need to stand in the customs line with everyone else? Stay tuned...

Same here, did the renewal on line receive email about three days later that it's approved and the account shows the update. New card in about a week. Guess interviews are only for new applicants.

Passport can be renewed by mail. DL can be renewed on line if you don't need to take in documents for Real ID. If you are of a certain age a visual eye check is needed.

Well it clearly stated that we would need an interview for renewal. Strange That it took 5 months for issuance if an interview wasn’t needed.

I was looking at interviews 6 months out. The time I did the original interview it took longer to find the office than the interview.
