I was going down the road one day, and one deer jumped out in front of me. I had my daughter in the car and I swerved to avoid the deer. Now, I jumped the curb and caused damage to the front of my car.

I contact the insurance company and I have a 1K deductable. ( I have never been in a car accident ) They fixed my car and have now jumped my 6month fee an additional 300 bucks!!! BASTARDS!!!

In a vette', if I would have hit that damn deer, I could have killed my duaghter, killed myself AND totalled the car!!! But these &*cks wanted me to hit the damn deer!!!!! Are you kidding me?!!!!! Jezzus, what the hell!!!!!

I am going to kill that little fu&*ing lizard if I ever see him!!!

Lets look at it from their perspective, shall we?
Is there any proof a deer was even actually there? You and your daughter's accounts, ok, but that isn't much. Who says you didn't do something stupid, hit the curb, and then make up a deer being there as an excuse?
Not saying that there really was no deer, but you have to look at it from their business angle

mmmmhmmmmm
I remember a long time ago when I took drivers ed. The instructor told us to never swerve to miss a deer because of insurance reasons.

Dude, check this out... IF I WOULD HAVE HIT THAT DEER, I AM CONVINCED, AND I AM DRAWING ON 13 YEARS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, AS WELL AS ADVANCED EVOC AND OTHER COURSES, THAT I WOULD HAVE TOTALLED THAT CAR AND/OR KILLED SOMEONE OR SOMETHING!!!!!

Man, that's why they take my money, assume the risk, to take the chance. Not to screw me any/every chance they get! That's why they are the INSURANCE COMAPNY!!!!!!

Ok, I am calm now... whooooo saaaaaaa.... whoooo saaaaaa

Meet the reason why I don't like insurance in general. You can never need it but you always have to pay and when you do finally ask the company to do their job/responsibility, you have to pay more.

I know that's true, but it just pizz me off you have to put your life in danger by hitting something because they (the insurance company) won't believe you otherwise. I can imagine hitting a deer with a vette would put your life at risk. By the way do you work for an insurance company:whistle:

I had to pay a deductable when I hit a deer

That would depend on your coverage I'd assume. I know with my insurance, there is more you can pay per month for coverage on instances like this...but I don't pay it so I'd be SOL if I hit a deer I think.

Nope
I want to know how in the eff he managed to swerve and hit a curb...did he even hit the brakes, how fast was he going, etc? I know I've managed to avoid deer going 50+ at night time :knockonwood: This just seems sort of fishy to me

This is for PCJohnny:

Dude, I have seen people very pissed off, because they DID hit the deer, and DID have to get up off of their deductable. So don't give me that crap.

Insurance companies are a load of crap. You feel safe and secure in the knowledge that you THINK you have someone behind you, just in case something happens, and bam, the second it does, they flush you down the drain.

Example: State Farm and Hurricane Katrina. ( look it up )

Now, if you work for an insurance company, I would understand the $hitty attitude. But having pulled dead people out of car wrecks and watched people flip their brand new cars over to avoid hitting animals in the roadway, all I can say is, I know better.

Whether I stay with this insurance company or not, remains to be seen. But I know one thing, whatever happens next, I know that I will personally speak to my agent and get their take on what constitutes a comprehensive insurance claim. :coffee:

Maybe you should check into an insurance company that has first accident forgiveness.

:killingme :roflmao: This right here speaks multitudes about your intelligence..You "know better", yet you STILL swerved to avoid the deer instead of hitting it.

Too late for that... this is already on his record and will count against him should he attempt to shop around. I believe it stays with him for 3 years before it can no longer be held against him.
