I am a mom of two- 14&18. I have been overweight since the birth of my first son. Not his fault!! Comfort food, etc. Started at 198. Lost 60 lbs and feel great.I love project runway/ cosmo/ redbook etc.I LOVE shoes. Since losing the weight, I want to wear the clothes I was never able to wear but I want, but I keep getting those nasty looks from women in the stores. I try to keep my head high and ignore them but it hurts when they laugh. Should I just submit? Or should I keep going, hoping I'm not the only one watching fashion tv?

138 may not be a bad weight unless you're only 4' tall. :lmao:

Congratulations! That's quite an achievement.

Do whatever you want - everyone else seems to - if they don't like it they don't have to look.

Give up shoes altogether. They are bad for your feet. Only use them when you need the protection..

Who cares what some heifers you don't know think about you? If they give you dirty looks make eye contact and mean mug those cows right back. Do what you want to do. You want to celebrate with some new clothes, GO FOR IT!!!! You deserve it. Haters are always gonna hate so pay them no mind.:buddies:

Wear what you want and be comfortable in what you are wearing. If it makes you happy then you shouldn't worry what others think.

However, I will say, that I find it tacky when women don't dress appropriately. It doesn't matter if you are skinny or if you are heavy, there are ways to dress that make you very attractive, but classy vs an older woman stuffed into clothes that only teenagers should wear. JMO.

I agree w/Christy,just be sure you are appropriate for where you are and what your doing. Stilletos at the playground and cleavage at a bake sale will get you some looks. However, like ginwoman said,it's just their insecurity. When I take the time to actually do anything with my hair and get dressed,I don't gauge how I look by men checking me out,I go by how nice the women are. If they are all sweet as can be,I'm looking rough. You've worked hard to lose weight, and when you walk out the door,if you are comfortable, and not tottering around on your heels or can't breathe because your clothes are too tight, than stay comfortable all day,no matter what other women do. The next time you have someone laugh at you - and I mean to your face, because who cares what anyone does behind your back - simply smile and say thanks. Because they are confirming you are a threat.

Congratulations on your weight loss!!!!! :drummer:

Don't worry about others. You deserved it! If that what makes you feel comfortable and good about wearing in those clothes, that's all it matters.

I lost 40 lbs last year, so I know how exactly how you feel. Keep up with great work! :buddies:

NEVER submit. As long as you are clothed and reasonably classy, throw it around like you earned it, cuz ya did. :yay:

Where are you shopping that the employees are giving you nasty looks? 138 lbs is NOT heavy. Don't pay any attention to them, they're just being stupid.
