There was ignorance going on with both sides in this incident. The only civil interaction I observed in this video was the initial contact on the traffic stop by the Town Officer and the Sheriff.
Any agency with jurisdiction in the area of the incident should have been notified not only as a matter of courtesy but the safety of the officers working in that area as well. It doesn't help that the initial contact with the officers on scene by the Town Chief began with an adversarial tone. The best way to go for the Town Chief would have been to offer any assistance they could provide and the Sheriff should have apologized for the lack of notification and offered a meeting to resolve the issue once the incident was over. Now both agencies have a black eye. Cooler heads should have prevailed but didn't.
