Hey guys,

I was taking a trip down memory lane the other day and I started thinking about the children's shows that were on a good 30 years ago in MD.

Do you guys remember the shows Romper Room, Bozo the Clown, Captain Chesapeake or Pete the Pirate? What did you think about them? Did you or your children watch them? What effect did it have on you or them?

Lets get a good topic going and reminisce on the good old days of public television and children shows.

Pick Temple was a great one for the kids from about 1950 for several years.
See more of his show as well as other DC Area Shows HERE. Thirty years ago I was just one year shy of retiring from the Navy!

We used to watch Pick Temple, Three Stooges, Romper Room, Mr. Ed, Twilight Zone, Lassie, Ed Sullivan Show. I don't think my daughter watched any of these. I don't think she was even born at the time. Her show was Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers. Those were the days of wholesome tv when we were growing up.

I was on the Pick Temple show and even recited the Pick Temple creed. :diva:

I have no recollection of that momentous occasion.

Romper Room showed a picture that I drew of my church (1970 something). I was such a good Catholic girl back in the day. :ohwell:

My Mom

Got my attention: We moved to Maryland from New York because my fake Mom got a job as the Romper Room lady. She was on TV in New York and auditioned for the Baltimore job. Remember she got it and did Romper Room for a few shows before taking a new job with some private production company. Thats It
Thanks for the memories
