Old Point Lookout Hotel

Anyone remember the old point lookout hotel that was torn down some years ago? Anyone have any pictures of it they can share? I used to have bunches of them but have misplaced them. Some of us were talking about it tonight at the bar and a few people didnt know anything about it.

When we were kids we would sneak in there to scare our friends, hold seances, listen and look for ghosts etc. (you know how dumb kids are) I had some pretty creepy experiences in that place though.

Just a memory that popped up out of the blue.....and with the way I destroyed my mind in high school I have to take them as they come.

Try the Ask Henry category. He should be able to direct you to a location that has some like the Historical Society.

Point Lookout Hotel

I remeber the hotel. My mom worked there when the army had it and then when a group of local business men took it over. Had alot of good times there. The state would have made a killing if they had saved the hotel and restored it. It was a big part of history. When the state took over all the private land it went down hill from there.

Ahhhh well...blame it on all those lost brain cells.

I think it would have been fabulous if they had restored the old place.

As for my sense of humor...well I have 4 kids(no BuddyLee isn't one of 'em ) a hard man and I live in St. Inigoes for goodness sakes....I HAVE to have a sense of humor!

The OLD HOTEL

Yes I remmber that old place we used to run around in their all the time. Had lots of fun in tht old building. Was in their when she was open was a real nice place great fishing out on the pier. Used to go swimming in the pool before they shut it down. I my know some people that have photos. I throught they should restore that old place to but when the land reseeded their was no one to take hold of the repairs. I used to know the ower and his wife they were real nice people took me fishing all the time. Getting drunk and running around that place was the bomb. The rangers used to chase us but they were out of towners and didn't know the place like we did. Misss them days. Thank GOD i don't do that anymore. Have a nice day.
