I was just called by the security people for my bank and told that someone had tried to charge 500.00 to my account. They told me I had to call the bank and tell them that it was a fraudulant purchase and to have them make sure that my debit cards were turned off!
DON'T USE YOUR DEBIT CARDS ONLINE!!!!!
Has nothing to do with online buying..anyone at anytime can take your number..
first 8 numbers on card ID the bank issuing card..last 8 ID your account.
All person has to do is memorize 8 numbers and expir. date.
My card got hacked and bank called...says it happens a few times a week.
I lost 2 grand overnight..bank put it back..got new card..all is ok..
So 1234-5678 is bank ID number...compare with outher that use same bank
0987-0987 is your number..and so easy to quickly memorize.
Many places ask for the last 4 of cc number ti ID you. after that all they need is 4 more numbers and DING..your card # is found out.
Now stores ask for security code on back of card..why? cause it is hidden from view when you use your cars in public.
Always check your bank card activity nightly..make sure you understand the charges and if not ok..go to bank.
Sorry you got attacked...and that is what it really is..an attack on your money and security.
