Oldie but goodie. I'd never read it, but saw it on the book table at BJ's and bought it. Although the events and people in the chronicle might leave a little something to be desired, the prose is excellent and at times brilliant.
I'm nearing the end of the book now and I'm feeling a bit disoriented. Ironically, although I'm losing touch with people, places, and things, the prose is getting better and better.
