Ford 302, head bolt 14 of 16 went from righty tighty to righty loosey....

BMW uses relatively tiny studs and some copper alloy nuts. Not a bad system at all.

IIRC the nuts were copper coated or copper solid

The only way to go. Of course running fat tires on the back burned clutch plates. Steel nuts never had a chance to rust in place.
