If you import it,..and look at it at 200%, you can tell the birds are pasted in.

It is real...just like Santa Clause is real, and the Easter Bunny.....if you have faith, it is as real as it can be!!!
The birds are real and the sunset is real....so it is all real!!!!

That isn't the mark of a photoshop job---it is noise reduction luminance -you look at the trees and around the tops of the edges there is the same type of markings---probably a very grain ridden shot---the horizon is slighty blurred which tells me this was a low-light challenge. Just my 2 cents---it is a very lucky shot-whoever took it probably didn't plan on the smiley face but thats what makes it so much fun---achieving the unexpected!
