Rocky Mountain High!!
A family we provided a Rottie too 10 years ago has just found out they are expecting QUADS!! They have two others, 4 and 18 months, and these were IVF. 3 eggs survived and one SPLIT so now there are 4! She's 7 weeks and will need to be put on bed rest soon. The family lives in CT. Izzy is champion sired, and as sweet as the day is long. I have her daughter and grand daughter here. We will keep her here with us, and will place her with a loving family if one comes available.....she is an absolute doll, housedog, kid proof....and completly healthy. It will have to be the perfect family...someone with kids, or even an older couple who is interested in a dog to cuddle.

If they're adding 4 babies at once, I don't see how a 10 year old dog is going to really add to the chaos. Cripes, I'd want a dog that I've had that long as an extra hand to warn of danger. I've heard so many stories of dogs knowing when something is wrong when the parents don't. It's good they're turning her in to you, but it's sad they feel the need to turn her in.

:yeahthat:

That's why I asked how old she was. I didn't want to bash them, but dag...I just don't see how people can do that.

Be about it
I think it sucks that people get rid of dogs for any little reason. How much trouble is a 10-year old dog?! I mean, really. Grrooowlllll!!

I wanna be a SMIB
Because these people fck with nature and do IVF, the poor dog get kicked to the curb. The kids better watch out when they get older, dont screw up or mom might get rid of them too if they become too much trouble to deal with. Selective abortion and keep the dog.

Freinds of mine have always had Rotties. I emailed them to see if they'd be interested.

I need details...medical issues? I'm assuming the dog is female and has since been fixed. Good with kids, I'm assuming and other people in general?

And the dog is where now?

Got an email back from her. No can do. She's afraid that her 8 year old will not accept another adult female dog into the house.

I tried. Good luck with relocating her.

I guess its better that they're giving the dog up to someone they know will care for it and take their time in finding a perfect home for it instead of letting it face the neglect they know its going to face. I mean they already have two kids (under 4) and they're about to add 4 more screaming crap makers. Not to mention the poor mom is going to be on bed rest for most of the pregnancy. I think the dog is going to be better off and that they made the right decision for the dogs sake. God knows; it couldn't have been an easy decision.
