What's half of 820,000,000?

http://usatoday.printthis.clickabil.../science/2004-01-22-mars_x.htm&partnerID=1660

Word is that it is still sending out random bits of useless data and beeps.
How is this any different from what it was doing before?

I noticed in the 36 previous attempt to visit Mars many of them failed from human errors in commands, programming, etc.
So who is the computer geek who pressed the wrong button this time?

beep...grzlbip...zpurti...beep
Yeah...that is worth $410,000,000.

Hessian,

Seems that the Spirit had a flash memory issue and has been able to function from ram instead of flash. All isn't lost, guess that just makes you mad as Hell that it might not be the failure and waste that you dream for.

Hessian,

And it keeps getting worse. There are now two vehicles on Mars and both are working. Oh, how tragic. :killingme

Anyone want the odds?

I give it less than a week before one or both are screwed up (again)...last I heard on the rover it has gone less than 3 yards from its landing pod and is doing tasks randomly and ignoring signals from HQ...(one reporter compared it to a wayward teen ager.)

tick tock...who will fall apart first?
