Well, the osprey are pretty much gone for the year.....
time for all of you nest watchers to report....

I for one had a quiet season as a rehabber...only took care of about 8 of them...3 were dead on arrival..victims of eagle attacks.(Early in the season)..2 died in treatment due to their trauma..3 were later released....YEA!!

One juvenile was attempting to catch a fish, went too deep, tried to take of and got water logged, tried to wing swim to shore and almost drowned.
Good boaters saw her, and scooped her up. I went and got her and fed her for 3-4 days, and took her back, and went with the family back out to the nest site and released her. It was awesome!!!!! The family was so impressed that "their" osprey survived!!!
They plan on putting up a couple of new nesting platforms!!

So, for all of you that watched nests and kept an eye on "their" osprey, how about a final report on how the nest site did..how many babies made it and any photos you took.
Also, how many nests/osprey parents failed to produce babies...

Here is the March thread about their arrival

Let's see if we can come up with a "Number of new baby osprey" added to the population.

Thanks!!!:howdy:
