Took 8 hours in the car but she is here. She slept 3 out of the 4 hours and as soon as we got her out, she went pee-pee in the road. Better there than in the car. She only cried when we first started out but was ok after that. She even talks. You ask her a question and she "answers" you. The more questions, the more answers. It's pretty funny. She has found her special spot in the house as you can see from the last picture.

We named her Tikaani (Tika for short). It fit her better than Cuda.

AKC Registration

Tika has been registered with the AKC and her offical name is Tikaani VII (I guess six other people liked that name too). Only cost $20 plus I sprung the extra $12 to get Lost and Found protection. We knew a lady who used to walk her dog down the main road all the time. Don't know what breed it was but it wasn't one you see every day. Anyways. someone tried to claim it was their dog and she had to fight to get her dog back. With the lost and found protection, she wears a tag on her collar with the AKC registration number and it shows who she belongs too. We are also planning on getting her microchipped too. We are not going to let some idiot try to claim our dog and not have our ducks in a row to prove she is ours.

Beautiful pup! You may want to look into getting her tatooed also. Sometimes a chip is not looked for.

Beware of Dog

Despite my husband's claim that because Tika is female, she will gravitate towards him, she is a Momma's girl all the way. Whenever I come near, her tail curls up and she is ready to play. Daddy comes around, the tail goes between the legs and she runs. She is still nervous around stranger. We ventured to Petco today to return the wet food I bought. (Breeder said it would give her the runs) and everyone made a fuss over her but she seemed to be ok in the cart. It's only when she is out and about that she gets nervous.

Here is her impression of a vicious dog. In reality it's her thinking it's playtime because I am down at her level.

Beautiful pup, great name. Congrats

I guess I should have put her nickname in my "name poll" instead of the other name (Tikaani). Everyone seems to like it but I needed a more "official" sounding name to register for AKC. Tika sounds too cutsie for a registry. I just thought it was cool because it means wolf and she looks like a wolf pup. More than likely, she will know her nickname instead of her real name. It's easier to yell when you catch her squatting on the carpet. TIKA!!! NO!!!!!!!!
