They have one at the campground cottage where we're staying and we love it! It's an induction cooktop, comes with the special pots/pan you need for it - around $100. This is way more efficient and easier to use than the propane stove we have now for our outdoor kitchen at the motorhome.

you just need pans with iron ...... this would be great for the cast iron skillets we always took camping

I was wondering if should invest in one of these. RVs only have 3 burner stoves in them. Not enough room to cook on at times.

Induction stoves are nice, but you need to buy cookware with a very flat bottom to ensure even heating. See ones like vrai linked all the time on the tiny house shows.

When I'm camping (rare) I like to break out my home made vortex stove and cast iron pot to make chile.

My latest discovery, if may add: 4th burner pot. 3 burner stoves can be cramped at times, like when using a large frying pan. I love this pot.
