Our Springers Smith and Wesson

All,
It is with great regret that we have to find a new home for our ‘boys’. They are English Springer Spaniels, (no tail dock or dew dock but neutered) due to our grand daughter’s asthma. She comes first. Most of you are aware of Sunny's asthma and the numerous times she's been hospitalized because of it. To the point that she has been flown from St.Marys hospital to childrens hospital several times.

They are up to date on ALL their shots, on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Recently been groomed and bathed. ALL Vet records will transfer with them…….

We have already contacted the Springer Spaniel rescue for the east coast. They can not guarantee that the boys will be kept together. In fact they have stated that they will not even attempt to do so. Can you help? We really do not want them to be separated, but Sunny’s health is the major factor here….

If you know of ANYONE who would be willing to take them and keep them together, we would be so grateful. Their good boys, Smith does like to dig in the wet dirt……… They’re crate trained (when we aren’t home) and do the basic commands. Both are house broken. They do need a fenced in yard. We recently put in a 6’ privacy fence. Anything lower will NOT contain them as they are both jumpers.
They are 4 years old.

TIA

Please don't beat me up on this. It's been a hard and VERY PAINFUL decision and I don't want to be made to feel worse about it. Neither no longer has their hair mullet as I forgot to ask the groomer to leave them alone when they were recently bathed and clipped.

Good luck keeping them together. What a hard decision to have to make.:frown:

BadGirl

I am so very blessed
My sister LOVES springers....has had many in the past..., and she recently lost one to cancer. She picked up one from a rescue recently, but I'm not sure if she'd be prepared to take on THREE doggies.

I'll ask her, though. :yay:

Are you also making the house a "smoke free" home? When my son was little, cigarette smoke was a tremendous trigger for him. Even if it was just to sit in the same recliner someone else sat in while smoking.

Good for her but now I wish I'd started this thread earlier.... I got an email this am from the rescue. They have a foster home for Wesson on Oct 11 but not one for Smith. I hate the thought of having to go through the pain twice now! And to see the one left behind go looking for the other one. I know that will happen as they have been together since birth.....:bawl::bawl:

I wish I could help you out suz but I got a saint bernard and no fenced in yard. I will see if any of my stepdads people at the store would like them and have them contact you through here.

My husband has flown a few Springers for a group called the Mid-Atlantic English SS Rescue in VA.
Is this who you contacted? I can give you more info if you need it.

Yes that's them. No, got all the info from a lady named Pat. She's working with me on it. She's been very helpful. But thanks.
