Outdoor basketball court

Just wondering (dangerous) if anyone has ever heard of putting a thick rubber matt or using the ones that lock together on top of dirt for a basketball court. We have a dirt area out back that is set up and flat with a hoop already but the dirt flies up. We want something we can take up and not permanent. A pad is about 3k for concrete and its hard to get a truck out there without tearing up the yard. Any ideas?
:lmao:

Go for the concrete and use a motorized "georgia buggy" to get it back there. If memory serves me, they can haul about a yard and a half each trip and beats the he!! out of a wheel barrow.

The rubber pads are going to work untill you want to make a cut or shift with your feet and they become unlocked and you fall on your rear...
