Outdoor playsets/swingsets

I really want to get a playset for my little man so I'm starting to look around. He loves the swings & slides when we go to parks but it would be nice to hang here sometimes too.

Any recommendations for a good quality set for a decent price? Where did you buy yours from? I like the ones that have some wood/some plastic, not all plastic. I assume buying from the Amish would cost thousands or is that not the case? Any idea if these go on a good clearance as summer ends? Man can they be expensive, yet I know he'll get years of use out of it. But there's no way we're gonna spend $3000-$4000. We'll just keep going to the park! :killingme

If you or the hubby is handy, you can buy a kit from Home Depot or Lowe's that has the plans for the set and some hardware. You can buy any additional items you want (slide, climbing wall, etc.) and incorporate them, as well. Something like this: Shop Leisure Time Tower at Lowes.com. We had one at our old house and it was very sturdy and held up well.

playset

we got ours from BJ's. It is a very nice setup and heldup wonderfully! PUtting it together well that took a few days for hubby and his dad. Seems pricey at first but they will quickly grow from one stage to the next. It's well made.

If you wait a month or so they go on sale there also.

That looks nice. I was checking those out at Lowes a while ago but never really priced it out once you add all the extras. Luckily, hubby & I are pretty handy and do pretty much everything ourselves around the house. Seems like a fun fall project.

BJs has a nice one on dispay in the store for $1,000. Does that seem about right compared to what you paid? Some are downright ridiculously priced, seem some up to $7,000 which just isn't happening here! Our son is 16 months now so at least I know he'll get many years of use out of it.

That's what I'm hoping for. Have you ordered online from them? Just wondering if there are slim pickings left by the time they go on sale? Thinking stores may have them on sale for Labor Day.
