Vrai is gonna cringe, if she’s watching!

They are using quotes from Journey Songs.

:lmao:

See?? That's why I don't watch that show! You're sitting there, enjoying the discussion, and next thing you know someone's coming to you with open arms or lovin touchin squeezin each other.

I can't take that risk.

I can't deny that Steven Perry has an incredible voice. I tend to count him up there with Freddie Mercury (without dispute the single greatest male vocalist in the rock genre), Robert Plant, Paul Rodgers and David Lee Roth. On my very best day, I can't come close to those guys.

But people dislike Journey on the basis of about four or five songs and its wide appeal during its heyday to young girls. Some Journey songs I can't tolerate - "Separate Ways" (although most male vocalists can't sing it like he does), "Don't Stop Believin'", "Open Arms" and "Faithfully". They're just weak and treacly. (They also all came out in a span of a year and a half). I think "Any Way You Want It" and "Wheel In the Sky" are ok as rock songs go.

The thing to me is some artists and groups get tiresome because the songs and the lead singer always sound the same. It's why I can't tolerate most Springsteen songs. Outside a couple ones, I can't tell which song I am listening to sometimes. Ok I can, but they just sound the same. I can listen to maybe one or two Taylor Swift songs even though as my sister says, she's barely singing them at all. She's just always the same sound. Stevie Nicks comes to mind - same song, over and over.

Springsteen is lucky that his band was good enough to make even him a star. He should've lived his life on a factory floor somewhere pulling the mid shift.

I saw Springsteen and the E Street Band at the Elliott Hall of Music, Purdue, back in the late 70s. I have to say that was one of the most incredible concerts I've ever been too...out of very.very many. I like to remember that...because I sure soured on that man in the years since.
