Ugh...so two and a half hours later and I've cleaned out one closet and thrown away half of the stuff that was in there.

Thank God for trash chutes!!! :WHOOSH: :bang: :bang: :bang: :BANG!: :CRASH!:

I'm sure my neighbors below me just loved the sound effects...

My wife and I started packing up our 4 bdrm house this weekend. We have been in this house for 10 years and this packing stuff is for the birds. I feel your pain.

Yes, movers will be doing the heavy stuff. Me....sorting, packing, selling, trashing, unpacking, etc. Looking forward to it actually, a new place, down sizing, something different, no more grass cutting etc. Moving locally, not as far to go as the last move. A lot of stuff I'll load up in SUV myself.

How about you, was you're move local?

Hope you'll enjoy your new place and surroundings!

Yes, moving from Arlington to Alexandria (used to be a SoMDer "back in the day").

Should be a lot of fun, but I just hate the moving part!

I've been helping my mom move every weekend this month so far, and there's no end in sight. Moving after 30 years of being in the same 3 bedroom house with full basement and garage. Talking my mom into throwing out all the stuff that she had been saving for her "grandkids" is the hard part. I told her that unless she was willing to let my dog play with the stuff, she might as well get rid of it. She's still holding on to that hope that I'll get hit in the head hard enough and want kids someday.
