Packing the SCOTUS

They have already identified people like you and me as the enemy of this country.

Who cares what "they" think? I understand that you're trying to get me to feel as freaked out and helpless as you do, but it's not going to work. I know that what you say - every city in every state is falling to the Socialists - isn't true. There are plenty of havens for freedom in this country and plenty of Americans who aren't taking their chit. I know because I've seen them firsthand.

You don't want to move to one of them, and that's fine - that's your CHOICE. I do. And if that pisses you off, not my problem. You seem to be enjoying your hysteria, so by all means go for it. But don't try to find a fellow hysteric in me because I know better. Not feel. Not think. KNOW.

And your hysteria towards my so-called "hysteria" is quite entertaining.

Its interesting how someone can bring seemingly endless chais into their lives and then use that for not being able to do what they say they want to do with life.
Like voting, make better choices people...

No, I said I could, but my conscience won't let me. I feel taking care of my mom and other family members is more important than escaping to a red state nirvana. I will eventually be able to make that move, but it's not happening now.

My only motivation was to say "we are losing our country to radical lefists". That was the core of my OP. But, I also believe that, once the left has control over our lives, there will no place you can go to escape it. They have already identified people like you and me as the enemy of this country. All they need is to take our guns then pass laws that criminalize our politics. If American history stays consistent, this can only result in civil war.

I believe that 80+% of the worlds firearms and in the hands of the citizens of the United States of America, they arnt going anywhere.

Like expressing his opinion here is one thing he does. Like all the rest of us.
It's something even if it doesn't amount to much.
In Maryland we certainly cannot write Steny Hoyer and get anything done, or any of our 3 Senators either.
They are just minions to the crooked party that elected a crooked President.

The big thing we need to work for now is a drastic change in 2022.
Wait... what? Did I miss something.

You know, sometimes I think about history and certain events and wonder why people did what they did. Like the Holocaust - why didn't the at-risk people get out while they still could? Now I'm getting a front row seat to watch that mentality. I don't really understand it because it's not part of my personal makeup, but watching people play out their nature has been fascinating and enlightening for me. Not to mention frustrating.

I'm picturing Chaim going, "Yo, Abie, it's getting dangerous here. We're bugging out, wanna come?" And Abie goes, "I could never do that. This is my home, and I can't leave my job and family." Chaim: "Bring your family with you." Abie, all noble like, goes: "Oh, I could never do that. We're going to stay here and fight for our home." Then Abie reports Chaim to the Gestapo in hopes of scoring a few brownie points, and ends up getting gassed anyway.

I honestly don't think it will come to that in the US - there are too many moving parts. But there are a lot of people who believe we're already there, and those are typically the exact same people who won't lift a finger to minimize their risk. "The world is ending!" "Yeah? What are you doing about it?" "Telling you!"

Fascinating.

The bolded answered your question.

Look at COVID. Our government managed to force every American - through threats, intimidation, and fear - to give up their freedoms. And for millions... their livelihoods. Here we are over a year later still in that same place - masking up, shut down, police still arresting people over it. Fear over getting sick caused us to destroy lives. We were given daily body counts to instill that fear. We were given so-called "advice" from Fauci and those fascists; advice that was all over the map. And Americans obeyed.

Government is organized to oppress the people. The people are not organized to reject an oppressive government. I kept hoping for a day where one person took their mask off, cop comes to arrest him/her, and everyone else around that person band together in unity, taking their masks off in unanimous rejection to the oppression. Yeah, I could have tried it. But, I knew no one, out of fear of being arrested and getting sick, would join in. In fact, I'm convinced most would have demanded my arrest.

COVID was a test. The government proved they can easily control us, and use law enforcement to enforce that control. We have a far-left government running this country. We have far left media controlling voices. These people have defined their opposition (the right) as the enemy of this country and convinced media platforms and law enforcement to use their authority and power to shut them down. COVID worked on a general level. Now, they can use the same fear tactics to convince the country how dangerous conservatives are and must be dealt with. It's starting with social media shutting down voices on their platforms. We have elected fascists running around, like Maxine Waters, urging "protesters" to assault their identified enemy.

So, as to "I honestly don't think it will come to that in the US"...??? It's here.

No, it didn't. Plenty of Americans gave them the old yuck fou and went about their business. There are like 8 states that never issued lock downs or mask mandates. There are cities within the locked down mask mandate states that ignored the order.

I don't even know why you say these things when they are demonstrably not true.

Could that be the conversation illegals are having before trying to come here?

No doubt that's the exact conversation some of them are having. Unfortunately other conversations include how to plant cartel members in our cities to sell drugs, and how to smuggle and sell the children they've kidnapped.

And you're saying things that are demonstrably untrue. I gave you one example of a woman that tried to defy the mask order in a bank and the cops arrested her. That was in TX. That is just a teenie tiny tip of the iceberg. Thousands of businesses and livelihoods lost all over the country. Oh yeah, they're supposed to just up and move and find one of those 8 states where they can reestablish their businesses. Have you even seen what's going on about that? Are you completely oblivious to the loss that's happened under these draconian shutdowns? Your only answer is to tell people who have lived in the Bronx all their lives, running a pizza parlor they inherited from their parent's parents to move somewhere else?

Perhaps you can show me an establishment that doesn't have a mask requirement, and if you defy it, they won't call the cops and have you in cuffs.

Demonstrably untrue? Tell that to all those people that lost everything in this crazy fiasco.

Psy. Calm down. This is what YOU claimed:

Look at COVID. Our government managed to force every American - through threats, intimidation, and fear - to give up their freedoms.

And that is simply insane bullshit and demonstrably not true.

Clearly you have no intention of getting a grip any time in the near future and now you're a boring hysteric, which means I'm done with this discussion.

Good grief.

Some Maryland folks need to "Get out of the House" and travel to other States and see how little this has affected others this past year....

Your attempt to marginalize my point with hyperbole............................ doesn't. If you're claiming you don't wear a mask where you're required and you just flip that establishment off and not wear it because you don't want to - because you're free not to - is bull####. I imagine you purposely didn't social distance because you just didn't want to. Bull####! I imagine you were able to go to all the places you wanted, even though they were shut down. Complete bull####!

You want me to get a grip? Stop pretending this whole didn't affect you one iota. I'm looking at this from a far larger aspect - how it is affecting the country as a whole - and not how it just affects me. I don't give a damn how I bore you with my "hysteria". I happen to think what's happening - the stripping of peoples' liberties and lives - is hugely important to me and doesn't stop here with just lock downs and masks. You had better "get a grip on where this goes from here". Or not. Just la dee da through you're life and pretend there isn't real suffering of ordinary Americans out there.
