Pandigital Novel Firmware Update

To anyone who has a black Pandigital Novel 7" color eReader:
Have you had trouble downloading the latest firmware update from the Pandigital website? My friend received one for Christmas and for the past few days I've been trying to update it, but have been unsuccessful. I am able to download the upgrader application, which is only 61kb. Running this application starts the download of the actually firmware update (about 55gb). It will download anywhere between 0-2gb then the download stops and the program freezes and forces closed. I have tried this on 2 systems, one running Vista and the other Win7.
The Pandigital site was down the day after Christmas so my theory is that Pandigital is overwhelmed with people downloading updates for all the devices they received for Christmas.

I have the sane problem with the updater freezing at 2gb. I have tried to allow access on the Internet Options Advanced Tab "Allow Software to run or install if signature is invalid"..disabled the phishing filter, allowed it thru Windows & McAffe firewalls...all with no luck. The only thing that I could think of is that because it purchased late in Dec..is that the the new firmware is already installed from the factory. Did you find out any else since you posted?

Was finally able to successfully download the update! Just got home a little bit ago, sat down and the file was downloaded in less than 5 minutes.
