PPPppp.....

Anybody try one? Opinion(s)? Sounds tasty.....
:fixed:

Somehow pulled pork and pizza just don't sound like they would meld together and excite my tastebugs

Pepperoni or sausage, ground chuck -ok. Mushrooms, peppers, olives, onions, many different cheeses - even ham and pineapple- yeah good.

Pullled pork - nah. Pa-tooie.

It is not in the advertisement so I asked. It has BBQ Sauce in place of Pizza Sauce. So it might be good.

That doesn't sound good to me but I don't care for BBQ pizza. Or Hawaiian pizza. Or any other highly Americanized "pizza" abomination. To me pizza should be Mediterranean in some form.

Italian sausage, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, black olives, and garlic - yum yum!

I bet if you folded it over and called it a Pulled Pork Calzone you would be more inclined to eat it.

Ick, no. That is not what's meant by "southern Italian cooking".

I rarely enjoy cross-cultural cuisine. Sometimes a chef will get it right and come up with something unique and tasty, but not usually.

I have been saying this to FH for the entire time I've known him. I usually don't like mixing cultures in my food! :nono: I don't like Mexican Pizza or Mexican spaghetti (and I don't wanna make that into a baked pie/casserole) I want Italian pizza or spaghetti. OR I want Mexican quesadillas or enchiladas. I definitely don't like chow mein noodles in casseroles which are not Asian type foods. There are probably other examples of cross culture fooding that I don't like, but I can't think of them offhand.

I DO, HOWEVER, highly and enthusiastically recommend the "Signature Stogies" at Stan & Joe's in Annapolis. They almost (almost!) make up for taking the corned beef bites (or steak bites or whatever they were called) off the menu. We went there in May and were told that the bites were removed and the waitress raved to us about the Stogies. :ohwell: She told us they are EGG ROLLS stuffed with different ingredients & then fried. We reluctantly tried the The Irish Stogie and it was DELICIOUS! Egg rolls stuffed with tender corned beef, sauerkraut, & Swiss cheese. Served with Thousand Island dressing for dipping. They have 4 different varieties, and while I'm sure they are all delicious, (because everything I've had there is) it would be hard to beat the corned beef one. http://www.stanandjoessaloon.com/menu/

Funny... thats not what southern Italians consider italian cooking either!

Pizza and spaghetti are considered poor man's food in Italy! A real "Italian" meal consists of a good quality meat like Veal or Steak.
