Party planner?

Questions:
How many of you would or have paid for a party planner for your child's birthday party?
Do you think there is a market for a full service kids theme birthday planner? I mean from doing invites, to set up, favors, getting vendors for food and/or cake, games, costumes, everything else and down to clean up!

I wouldn't, but that's because I always had a strict budget to stick to. But I am also good at planning, organizing, decorating, doing the game things and all that stuff so I wouldn't have paid someone to do that.

As for a party like you describe - I have never given one like that. My kids always had modest birthday parties. From family cookouts at home with a couple of friends to a bowling alley, McD's (when much younger) or an arcade with groups of friends, etc.

Would I have paid -- heck no!

Is there a market? Oh yes, definitely. There are a lot of parents out there that are "too busy" to do all that stuff but want their kid to have a party. Cost factor would be the key. Do some research to find out market prices in other areas.

:yeahthat: I agree, I think there is a market for it, too -I got distracted and sent my response before I added that! (multi-tasking with FB!!)

I wonder what is an average a family spends on a childs birthday party? I know for me I only do big birthdays on 1st, 5th, 10th, 13th, 16th, 18th, and 21st.

I am so very blessed
I wouldn't use a service like that because I enjoy doing stuff like that on my own. most of my friends would rather do it themselves, too.

Again, I was always on a budget. If I did the party myself, it was always much less money. A few times either of my boys had a party someplace like the bowling alley or an arcade. That cost per child was about $8.00-$10.00 and they only had a couple of friends, because they weren't that old. I've never done the "invite the whole class" parties. TOOOOO many kids!

Now that they're older, we go to dinner on their birthday, and they have a few friends over on a weekend day to hang out, have pizza, cake (homemade) & icecream or they can take a friend to a movie.

I think there are some who will pay for that service - and some who won't.

Loving My Life...
Do it yourself and save money.. It doesn't take that much to plan a party and clean it up. Thats what your family is for lol

Yes and No.
It would depend on cost of course.

There's been several places over the years that offer party packages and most don't stay in business. That being said I don't think our area would support a venture like this.

In the Annapolis area though you might have a hit.
