You're the one between the two of us that popped a cork over this. I was left going  I was just giving you my opinion.Let me tell you what is tiring: Trump haters who are so invested in it that they've lost their "minds".

I get you, but consider what you’ve done… I’ve long thought of you as a pretty staunch conservative. Yet you jumped to the dem party because you wanted to vote for a very liberal guy – Jim Webb. I’m still trying to make sense of that; unless I just don’t understand you political bent at all. It seemed to me you compromised on a bunch of your principles to go that route. But it seems more to me that you reached your last strand of rope to hang on to. This is sort of where I am; except that I’m increasingly seeing very little hope in voting my principles at all. It may make me feel good when I pull the lever; but when the election is over and the person is selected, I’ll still be right where I was before I pulled the lever. And that's why you considering Trump bothers me. Disagree as we might, I've always respected your views and your efforts to challenge your own arguments. I just can't see you coming around to Trump BECAUSE of our past arguments. THAT would be engaging in the insanity. To take the position that Hillary, or Bernie, could possibly be that bad is to say you have no faith in the courts or the legislative branch or the media. If it is that bad, how does it follow that someone like Trump, who you can't possibly support on any issue in and of itself, would make it any better?
Progressives and feminists usually don't belong to the same party that Paul Ryan and I belong to. We still expect men to be gentlemen. That is how we raise our children and that is what we expect of the men with whom we associate ourselves. Our society is way beyond expecting men to behave ‘gentlemanly’. This should have become evident with Bill Clinton. I don’t think anyone in such a high position could have been more destructive to the feminist movement than Bill Clinton; yet he is still loved by progressives and feminists. Try to figure that one out.
People seem to love their ‘bad boys’. Especially when we’ve tried so hard to get a government to stand up against all these really evil leaders in the likes of Russia, China, N. Korea, and Iran… Especially when we’ve had to tolerate a congress that defies the will of the people time and time again. Trump is like that biker that you tend to hate because of his rude behavior, but end up loving because he defends and protects you with his rude behavior. As long as that person is standing up against the things we have come to hate (in this case our establishment political class), it doesn’t much matter their tactics. I’m beginning to look at this a bit like war… In order to win, truly win, you have to butcher the enemy in a most brutal way. So you need some real ‘bad boys’ to do the job. Trump is now that guy. We’ve trusted good guys to get the job done, and they’ve failed us. Let’s give a ‘bad boy’ a try.
That’s the best way I can characterize this whole phenomenon.
I'm sure I'm not enlightening you to anything; but don't be surprised when the rest of the world doesn't play along.Progressives and feminists usually don't belong to the same party that Paul Ryan and I belong to. We still expect men to be gentlemen. That is how we raise our children and that is what we expect of the men with whom we associate ourselves.
Which of Donald Trumps families are you talking about? The one with his first wife? Or the family he had with the woman he cheated on his first wife? Or, the woman who he had an affair with on that wife?Have you seen Donald Trump's family lately? 5 children - 3 of whom are very successful adults in business and have very fine families of their own. 1 just graduated from the University of Pa. Trump thinks God, county and family are important, also. He was not born into wealth - his father made his wealth. Donald was loaned money when he became an adult and he turned that money in to MORE money. There was no silver spoon. They worked their asses off to earn that wealth. The "American dream" way.
I'm curious. Have you taken the time to read Trump's campaign website? To read what he thinks about each of the issues? Or do you simply rely on soundbites and news accounts of his words? He is not winning the numbers of votes because he's being "Mr. Nice Guy". This country has gone so far over the PC-bridge no one can stand up straight with a backbone anymore and call a spade a spade for fear of being outcasted as a bully. Trump is not afraid to say it like it is.
The Rosie O'Donnells of the world can say whatever outlandish thing they want about men and if a man says anything back - oh, my God! he's misogynistic.
Probably 4 or 5 years ago or so(?), Obama claimed on Jay Leno's show that he bowled worse than Special Olympians - yet, there was no big outrage of the media.
Trump is not your ordinary "PC-politeness" type of guy and he's not a shrinking violet. So many of the politicians today test the wind to see which way it's blowing and that is what the majority of people are tired of. It's evident in the voting numbers.
I can go along with that last, prove me wrong.I get you, but consider what you’ve done… I’ve long thought of you as a pretty staunch conservative. That's right. I found I was a RINO and left the party. This is sort of where I am; except that I’m increasingly seeing very little hope in voting my principles at all. It may make me feel good when I pull the lever; but when the election is over and the person is selected, I’ll still be right where I was before I pulled the lever.
Sometimes it simply boils down to what we are compelled to do. I am compelled to say “Okay, I’ll play along; not because I agree, but because I want to be proved wrong.” So, let’s get Trump in there and prove me wrong that he won’t be nothing more than what we have been dealing with since HW. Gingrich and the gang gave us hope, which lasted – what? – about 4 years? Trump is different than anyone we’ve seen in our lifetime. He’s not your stuffy politician. He’s a heck of a lot of fun to watch (when you can get past being annoyed with him). Maybe I’d like to see him in the Whitehouse simply for the entertainment value; to watch him go off on Boehner or Pelosi every time they do something stupid. Maybe he’ll pick Gingrich as his veep and actually clean the place up. Since I know he will be the guy, why not just say “Prove me wrong about Trump”?
The people I associate with play along. I don't expect the rest of the world to play along, but I do expect a person I am going to vote for to be diplomatic for the most part in their dealings and comments about others.I'm sure I'm not enlightening you to anything; but don't be surprised when the rest of the world doesn't play along.
Wow! That was easy.I can go along with that last, prove me wrong.
Further, more than me realizing I was a RINO and leaving the GOP, I've come to the realization that the ONLY way forward from here IS big gummint. Limited government is simply gone the way of the buggy whip; it's just no longer a useful tool and the big gummint appetites of todays GOP are mean and anti US. This doesn't make the D's any better but I'll take Sanders over Cruz or Rubio or Hillary or Jeb and go from there. Trump, I'm with you; let's see.

Hey, you have a sound reason that you've clearly, considered and vetted. If only we all took that sort of diligent skeptic view of ALL of our candidates.Wow! That was easy.

Earlier you said you'd give me the reporter. Now you change your mind for the sake of not being wrong? If you don't think putting an unflattering picture of a person against a flattering picture of another an attack on that person well there is no more to discuss. You are set in your opinion and should remain firmly in his camp. Good luck.No you didn't. Heidi Cruz's husband launched the first missile, and there was no "attack" on Heidi anyway. He didn't "attack" that reporter, and Megyn Kelly indeed attacked him first.
So you actually named zero people he attacked who didn't attack him first. Since when is being rude an "attack"?

Wayyy too much work for most Americans.Hey, you have a sound reason that you've clearly, considered and vetted. If only we all took that sort of diligent skeptic view of ALL of our candidates.
The children. Yes, his children are from the 3 wives. And with the exception of Barron, who is a well adjusted middle schooler it would seem, the 4 older ones all seem to be well adjusted adults.Which of Donald Trumps families are you talking about? They probably all had the same nanny, although i doubt her name was Hazel. Maybe Conchita or Consuela? The children. Yes, his children are from the 3 wives. And with the exception of Barron, who is a well adjusted middle schooler it would seem, the 4 older ones all seem to be well adjusted adults.
Those children. From 3 different wives, yes. I suppose that is pretty good odds since it's not your idea of the "perfect family".

I'm okay admitting I'm wrong when I am, but I'm not this time. Perhaps I just define "attack" differently than you do.Now you change your mind for the sake of not being wrong?

Exactly how is it you know if any of his kids are well adjusted ?Money can hide many things and a lot O money can hide even more. The children. Yes, his children are from the 3 wives. Oh please. The media has been stalking these people for months trying to find anything they can make a big deal out of. If any of those kids had problems, you better believe we'd have heard about it on every single news outlet in America.Exactly how is it you know if any of his kids are well adjusted ?Money can hide many things and a lot O money can hide even more.
I would disagree.Oh please. The media has been stalking these people for months trying to find anything they can make a big deal out of. If any of those kids had problems, you better believe we'd have heard about it on every single news outlet in America.
Specifically?I would disagree.
