I cannot see this flying for the home user. Most people would have no clue what level of performance they need. And if MS continues to push updates and patches, as well as virus updates and whatnot, you basically have to leave it on most of the time. If you don't leave it on, you get pummeled with updates when you DO turn it on, and guess what? Your level of performance now goes up commensurate with the CPU cycles getting burned to process all this stuff.
