How do you all pay your bills? Do you use online banking? Do you pay online through the company's website? Do you write checks and mail payments?

If you pay online through the companies' websites, do you feel safe with them having your info? Do you let them keep it in their system? Do you authorize automatic debits?

All of our bills are automatically drafted from our bank account, except for the propane bill cause they only refill once a year. That gets paid online and I have no problem with them retaining our info.

Most of my bills are automatically deducted from our checking account. I've never had a problem with doing it this way.

I pay the majority of my bills online. I do not let any website retain my info that doesn't allow me to set up a secure login account.

Also double check with the company in questions website. I have run into a couple that do NOT want you to pay online and charge a "service fee" for you doing so.

Do you authorize companies to w/d from your account? Or do you only go through your bank?

I may be speaking out of context, but I know a few people who are leery about online banking. Myself, I pay bills online through my bank website.
I haven't and hope not to have; any problems yet.

I pay the majority of my bills through my online banking system. I LOVE it. One is set up for automatic payments through the company, and a few of them I pay through the website.

I was asking because I was talking to a lady at the bank and she said it's dangerous to pay through the company website or to authorize payments because if there's a problem, the bank has no control over your money. She said it's much safer through the bank, because they're in control, and they want you to be safe. I was just wondering if anyone had trouble with automatic debits through the company.

I pay all of our bills online through my bank. I've never had a problem in the 3 years I've been doing it this way...

One of our bills does not 'do' the bill pay so I have to go to their site and pay, but it really isn't a big deal. I am hoping that sometime in the near future they will begin to accept online payments from banks. I didn't know it but my bank actually had to send them a paper check the first time I did it. :stupid:

 That's how my bank pays companies who don't accept online payments.

I just didn't know that at first. I figured it would go through the next day like all the others, but it said 4 day delivery...

I just go through their site now and use my debit card/checking account and it comes right out the next day. :yay:

I've had automatic EFT from checking for at least 20 years on my mortgage and insurance payments. My MasterCard I do a manual transfer of funds each month as they are both in the same credit union.

I pay through the billers website. I haven't had any problems so far :knockingonwood: I don't like the automatic payments. I'm afraid I'll forget to deduct something. I do have three bills that come out automatically. That's about all I can handle I think, :lmao:

When is MetComm going to get with the times? It's a PITA to have to write 1 check a month and have stamps readily available for this one bill. They're the only bill that can't be paid online.

I just recently started using BOA Bill Pay. For years I've been mailing checks. I have realized all the time and hand cramps that I've wasted by check writing. BOA Bill Pay is easy and convenient. I don't mind that they have my information and so far nothing has been compromised. In the last two weeks I've made two big payments and they cleared without any problems. :yay:
