PGPD Pedestrian Dies After Fatal Collision on Marlboro Pike

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred Monday evening in District Heights. The deceased pedestrian is 85-year-old Jose Guanuna Andrango of Forestville.

On November 22, 2021, at approximately 5:15 pm, patrol officers responded to the 7300 block of Marlboro Pike for a collision involving a pedestrian. Once on scene, officers located Guanuna Andrango in the roadway. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was attempting to cross Marlboro Pike when he was struck by a SUV in the eastbound lanes. The driver of the SUV remained on scene. The driver was not injured.
