PGPD Pedestrian Dies of Injuries from Collision in January

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit has assumed the investigation into a collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in January in the town of Landover Hills. The victim is 82-year-old Tyrone Tyson of Hyattsville. He died of his injuries on March 30, 2024.

On January 25, 2024, officers with the Landover Hills Police Department were called to the area of Annapolis Road and 68th Avenue for a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation revealed the involved driver struck the pedestrian as he attempted to cross the roadway. The driver did not remain on the scene
but has since been identified.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all fatal collisions that occur in the town of Landover Hills.
