We have seen several pediatric cardiologists from Children's (at the Laurel & Upper Marlboro Outpatient Children's facilities) and they were all great. Never met a bad dr or nurse from Children's. They're great!

Just a note about the nurses. I've had lots and lots of stays at children's and I just have to say the Dr's are top notch for the most part and so are the nurses (please trust your instinct though. There are bad apples in every bunch. My last stay at children's with my son was horrible the nurses were rude and honestly tried to kick us out. He had major surgery the afternoon before we left, vomiting the next morning, they pushed to get us out the door that evening, even though I initially resisted. I ended up having to trek back two days later because a penrose drain needed to be readjusted. this is something that would have been taken care of later that night or the next morning if we had stayed) I have great insurance I could have stayed but honestly they were just nasty.

So take the advice of friends but always go with your momma gut. I knew I should have stayed one more day. no matter how rude and nasty they were.

Thanks for sharing. I'm a firm believer that we, as mothers, are the best advocate for our child. :yay: for mother's intuition!

Dr Ringel at Johns Hopkins is really good. We went to childrens for awhile and werent very impressed with some of the doctors named above. They really never seemed to know who we were and my daughter has a very serious condition that should have been remembered, especially when i was going to the doctor every other week in annapolis,dc,or upper marlboro. But thats just my opinion

Sorry no, we go to the Rockville Children's. Its nice b/c their office is set up to do any tests right then and there, no need to reschedule to come back.

I will say though when my oldest son was younger he saw the specialist from the Gastroenterology department, we had to go to dc for the initial visit and then from there out he saw her at the Bean building, it was really nice b/c his doctor was there and they actually saw him together.

I've been going to Dr. Galioto since birth. Great guy. Comes to Southern Maryland from his main offices in bethesda once a month. Couldn't recommend anybody better.

As you know, I'm a strong advocate for Children's Hospital - they kept my babies alive. When I was still pregnant, a cardiologist from Children's came to my peri's office to examine the babies' hearts in utero - and he was great. They also saw cardiologists during their stay that were great. Fortunately we had no issues there that required more from them than that.

But I give everyone at Childrens Hospital BIG thumbs up! After 8 weeks now, I've yet to have found anyone up there that I could honestly say I didn't like (nurses and techs included) and I tend to be overly critical of people.
